We Buy Sebastian Miniatures!

Since 1938 and until 2013, Sebastian Miniatures have been designed, copyrighted, put into production and all hand painted.

The original artist was Prescott W Baston from 1938 till the early 1980's and then passed on to his son, Woody Baston (Prescott Jr)

Each and every Sebastian Miniature has a copyright date.  This is the date the piece was originally designed.  Some pieces were made just that year where other "common" pieces were produced over a forty-year period.

From 1938 till 1945 the pieces were made in a studio located in Arlington, MA.  From 1946 till 1975 in a studio in Marblehead, MA then moved to a studio in Hudson, MA and began an association with Lance Corp and Hudson Pewter.  Finally, upon the closing of Lance the studio moved to Wayland, MA in 1998 with a short stopover in Stoughton, MA

Both Prescott and Woody were very generous with their signings, for this reason a signed piece is very nice to have but adds little to the overall value.

Pieces made in Arlington do not have labels.  Pieces made in Marblehead will have a painters pallet label but no way to tell the exact year (anytime from the copyright date until 1975) with the exception as special designs that were only made in one year.  The Hudson pieces have various colored labels that represent the year of manufacture, many have the year as well, a few that don't have years were made between 1976 and 1982.  Wayland pieces went back to a painters pallet design in either red or blue with the year of manufacture.  Remember the date engraved in the piece mostly does not represent the year of manufacture

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Woody Baston in 2018.  Both he and his father Prescott designed and manufactured every Sebastian Miniature, spanning a 75 year period.  The spirit and grace he brought to everything he designed and everyone he met will never be forgotten.
